I bought this camera two weeks ago and the first photos and video were excellent; really pleased with the quality. I have spent the last two weeks learning how to set it up to get the best out of it. The 18-135 F3.5/F5.6 works well with the camera.

Après plusieurs mois de réflexion pour choisir mon prochain boîtier, j’ai finalement décidé de rejoindre l’écosystème Sony, porté par les nombreux retours positifs. Mon choix s’est arrêté sur le Sony A6400, qui correspondait parfaitement à mes besoins et à mon budget. Passionné de street photography, je cherchais un appareil discret, réactif et fiable, capable de gérer des situations variées : autofocus rapide pour saisir l’instant, montée en ISO propre pour les scènes sombres, ergonomie efficace pour travailler sans perdre de temps. Venant d’une autre marque, j’ai été un peu dérouté au début, mais l’apprentissage est rapide et gratifiant. Aujourd’hui, je peux le dire : je suis pleinement satisfait de mon achat. Le boîtier m’a offert un vrai saut en avant : des images nettement plus piquées, une réactivité qui change la manière de photographier, une résolution qui me permet enfin d’envisager de grands tirages, une fiabilité en basse lumière que je n’avais jamais eue auparavant. Pour quelqu’un qui rêve d’exposer, c’est un plaisir de voir ses fichiers tenir la route sans compromis. Il me reste encore à apprivoiser toutes ses possibilités, mais ce boîtier m’a déjà convaincu. Je le recommande sans hésitation à tous ceux qui cherchent un appareil compact, performant et taillé pour la street.

I bought this to replace an aging Canon M10. The a6400 is a massive step up in every way; enough hardware controls to do everything I need quickly and without having to use a screen, great image quality and (to me, at least) astonishingly fast and accurate autofocus. I also love that this camera is weather sealed and feels like it could withstand getting hit by a tank.

I bought this camera about a month ago, so these are just initial comments without a great deal of use. Let's get the single dislike out of the way. The placement of the SD card beggars belief. These cards have a small indentation at the bottom of the card on one side so that you can use a fingernail to help extracting it. When installed, the orientation of the card means that the indentation is covered. To get the card out, you have to point the base of the camera downwards and hope that the spring eject throws the card out. Grunt over. I bought the camera to replace a bridge camera that I found too big and cumbersome and wanted something that would be, potentially, pocketable. The camera is exactly what I wanted. A small, relatively lightweight camera that is capable of taking good photos (in the right hands). To say that the features are comprehensive is an understatement and I'm still in the process of familiarising myself with them. Once I feel comfortable and confident with its performance, my plan is to add a macro or short zoom lens (maybe both) to add to the kit lens that came with the camera. Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase. I'd spent some time researching the options that suited my criteria and the A6400 kept on coming to the top of the list. I bought the camera from a local retailer (WEX, Norwich) and I left feeling confident that I would not be disappointed. Looking forward to getting out and about with the camera without getting shoulder ache.

J’ai acheté cet appareil photo et c’est un réel plaisir

J'ai acheté ce produit en décembre 2025 et l'ai utilisé aussitôt lors d'un voyage au Canada. Facile pour la prise en main il faudra tout de même un peu de temps pour utiliser toutes les fonctionnalités

Bought the camera just before Christmas. The camera is great and takes some fantastic photos even with the Kit lens. I would have given the camera 5 stars, but the issue is uploading the photos on the software which is far from simple, especially when compared with my Canon R5 MKII

Great improvement to my old A58, it should hopefully help me rediscover my love of taking photos. The autofocus is good, quick. The ability to set custom buttons is also very useful.

Outstanding camera with a wealth of features, too long a list to mention but the adjustable display screen is the outstanding feature. Superb in bright sunlight and very flexible with the ability to use it at different angles. A pleasant surprise as I didn't realise it had that feature, I assumed the screen was fixed as on my older camera. The best thing about the camera itself, apart from the excellent build quality, is the ability to take outstanding photos even in auto mode, perfect for the quick snapshot and perfect for people like myself who are not experts with the wealth of features available. Only gripe is the software could be a little more intuitive. The Creators Cloud app isn't available for this camera and manually transferring your photos by memory card still seems to be the easiest way to do it, which sems strange in 2026 unless I'm missing a trick.

I'm brand new to the photography world, and it's something I've always wanted to get into, so I decided that 2026 would be the year I finally pursue it as a new hobby. After doing some research and visiting my local camera shop, I settled on the Sony A6400. It's a beautiful camera with a great weight to it, and while the menu system is initially quite detailed, it's surprisingly intuitive once you spend a bit of time with it. Ergonomically, it feels great in the hand, and it's very easy to start shooting right away. I managed to get a great deal on the A6400 with the 16–50mm kit lens, which is perfect for learning the basics and experimenting with different kinds of shots. So far, I'm really impressed with the features, the image quality, and how user-friendly the whole setup is.

My first 'real' camera. Really nice piece of equipment. Takes beautiful photos. The buttons and menus are very easy to navigate and use. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone wanting to take a step into photography.

I recently bought the Sony a6400, and it completely changed my photography game. The image quality is stunning, autofocus is lightning-fast, and the colors are so natural straight out of the camera. As a beginner, I found it easy to use, yet it still offers professional-level control. A perfect all-rounder for street, portrait, and travel photography.

J'ai acheté ce produit le mois dernier. Peut-être n'est il pas livré avec le dernier firmware mais je ne trouve pas la fonction [Non réglé] dans le menu. J'ai beau chercher je ne la trouve pas, elle est pourtant mentionnée dans le manuel. A ce propos je ne trouve pas que le manuel soit bien pratique

I'm very pleased so far. Once I've mastered it I'm sure the photos will be excellent.

Je souhaitais un appareil photo passe partout et compact avec une bonne qualité photo. Avec le SONY 6400, c'est réussi. En revanche la prise en main n'est pas facile avec une notice d'utilisation de 950 pages !

Brought myself up to date after parting with my 13 year old camera. That was a very good 10mp Panasonic. I have to say there is a learning curve to cope with because the A6400 is very sophisticated indeed. The lack of legible operating procedures and instructions is a minus point for Sony. The major plus point is the extremely fast focusing system and image quality. Had to “buy” a book to learn how to use it. Not happy about that.
