Got this second hand at bargain price. Good sound compared to TB and Bluetooth really useful. Does what it says but not multi speaker atmos replacement.

Occasionally no audio connection with Sony TV. Need to reboot by powering off the main switch.

Great HT-G700 amazing sound like cinema around effects

Seamless connectivity with so my sony tv Nice deaign.

I've been using the HT-G700 with my laser 4K projector for a couple of weeks. I've tried it with movies, TV shows, live TV, sports, Spotify, and PS4 Pro. Movies: detailed sound but with very poor low-frequency bass; dialogues get lost with noisy sequences. Overall, satisfying 3.1 audio but with a huge disappointment Dolby Atmos experience. TV shows: not too bad. However, you should use your TV speakers if you care more about clear dialogue. Music: don't use it. PlayStation: Very good sounds and effects. Dialogues are still an issue with noisy backgrounds. It's the right item if you want a decent 3.1 audio system. Totally to avoid if you're looking for an ATMOS sound experience.

About to call and get it fixed as not working despite trying

I bought this HT-G700 to replace my 10 years old CT 780. HT G700 has better vocal but not low Bass, lack of NFC function and unable to connect to Sony Sound Center apps.

Regret buying this. Sound quality is lousy. Worst then my old soundbar.

Having received a reply from Sony, I have now updated the firmware and am now using my new HDMI cable and the difference is fantastic, I no longer turn off the soundbar to use TV speakers, only watched a couple of films and started a few TV Series but I can now hear dialogue great and am very happy with my purchase. I would however suggest that with this being Bluetooth enabled re the subwoofer, it is a shame the soundbar cannot update itself in the same way the TV does but I suppose that this is at the cheaper end of the market and you get what you pay for

This would not be my 1st choice, I have tried all different settings and can barely hear what people are saying during films or TV dramas etc. background noise or music or sound effects drowned out any dialogue. Music is quite good and sound effects on films are good but at the expense of dialogue. Also for some inexplicable reason, it is temperamental. It does not always work, over Christmas, it would not work at all and I could not find any fault, so I ordered a new HDMI cable. Still, before it arrived on the day after Boxing Day it started working again, I have no idea why, I never touched it at all but because I enjoyed the TV over Christmas without the sound bar I decided to unplug it and use the superior TV sound system. Which is a Sony Bravia I have been disappointed with this because I use a lot of Sony products and they are usually excellent.

The subwoofer was never able to connect... The Sony customer support did not help much, as a result, I have been without any product for the last 14 days

Apparently the software seem unstable as my soundbar power off afterv2 hrs in afew ovcassions recently. And the audio mmersive AE is switch off once diifetent source is used.

I purchased this about 8 weeks ago and the sound quality on speechas very poor couldnt here people talking on films as the background music was so loud in the end I sold it and bought a Sony s2000 much better system

Was browsing around for a suitable sound bar to replace the one at my home and met the salesperson in explaining what's the differences between Sony various sound bar on sales. Decided to go with the HT-G700 because of the Dolby Atmos feature which make the sound more immersive. Never regret getting and changing the one at home for this great sound bar.

14 months into ownership, and the Bluetooth feature stopped working. Sony has the worst customer service.

I bought it 2 months ago. Though we do not use it often, it's definitely good to have it when when you are watching action pack movies.

I had 3 Sony so far Sound is good, but problem is after 1 or 2 years stop working or get sound low!

I bought it a month ago and still enjoying the purchase and discovering the value of my purchase.

Value for money and pleased with the sound as I can clearly hear the dialogue on dramas and movies.

Purchased to go with Sony Bravia TV. Simple to connect. Different setting enabled me to get the sound I wanted. Synchronisation with the TV was good.

Bought this a few weeks ago, very easy to set up and use, one HDMI cable (not supplied) to the e-ARC port on the TV and it's ready to go. I mostly just leave it on the auto sound with the voice enhancer on and it sounds pretty good. Bass isn't as good as a separates system, but more than adequate for a small flat, also has a night mode so as to not annoy the neighbours. Surround effect is a bit hit and miss, sometimes you notice it and other times less so, but it supports all the major formats, Atmos and DTS-X. Only things it lacks is an on screen display (have to use the display on the soundbar but once its set you don't need to go in the menu much).

I always buy Sony this is an upgrade to my old Sony surround system the sound is brilliant and it goes well with my new Sony oled television

This was to replace a Panasonic home cinema set, of which the sub woofer had blown. I do miss the back speakers I had , however the sound from this sound bar is very rich, clear and powerful enough for our fairly large room. As a previous reviewer said, it takes longer to unpack than to set up. Looks really good and fits in well. My only negative comments would be that the mains leads could really do with being longer and the sub woofer is very big.

No sound from my Samsung TV by using HDMI mode, I Tried a few days to do that, but still doesn't work.

After 2 month’s experience I am really worried and sad about the product.. Sony told great about product but really not worth for money. I believe in Sony products but this soundbar make me really disappointed

Great improvement in hearing dialog through all the other noise that's on TV these days.

The bar sounds great. but it intermittently locks up to my 2 year old Sony TV when i turn on the TV. Why does the sound bar not always lock up to my TV instead of my TV speakers???? if you can tell me how to fix this i will give the bar a 5 star!

Bought this one to replace and older sound bar and it provides excellent sound and superior music quality during shows.

I bought this product during the thanksgiving cyber Monday as a gift to myself, definitely love the change to my sound system.

Easy set up and easy to use. Looks good, and solid.

Good sound bar to go with my sony 65A80j brava television

This is an excellent product and the quality of sound is impressive for a compact system. I have been a Sony enthusiast for many years and currently have, and have owned, many Sony electrical products (phones, TV's, camera, laptop, radios, stereo systems, cassette players etc). But I am very disappointed to find that neither this Sony HT-G700 soundbar, or my Sony Bravia Television KD-43XG8096, are fitted with stereo audio-only input ports. I now have a problem, because I also use a Sony PS-LX300USB turntable to play my personal collection of vinyl records. Although responsive and after several emails, the Sony support service has not offered any helpful suggestions.

ALTHOUGH NOT FULLY SURROUND SOUND AS SPEAKERS TO NOT HIT THE CEILING IT IS NEVERTHELESS A SUPERB SOUND. IT HAS VARIOUS MODES TO ENHANCE THE SOUND OF ANYTHING YOU'RE WATCHING. FOR THE PRICE IT IS FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY WELLL DONE SONY !

Fantastic sound so easy to set up, tv control controls volume

Bought this as a replacement. So far I am very surprised how good it sounds.

Needed a Soundbar, to go with Sony TV. Wanted a Sony Dolby Atmos Soundbar without breaking the bank to get, with great sound quality. I feel with this one I accomplished what I set out to do. It was easy to install/replace the existing one, great sound quality, and so much more. Seamless set up allowed it to play nice with all the other Sony products.

Very happy with quality of sound and build. Many ways to connect to tv and set top box etc. Voice setting very helpful for my wife. Easy to install and allows me to use single handset to operate tv, sound bar and android tv box. Delight to use

I love this product. I connected with my TV. It's very nice.

Stopped working and had connection issues. Sent it to get fixed and they got it working but it’s not connecting properly and now one of the functions isn’t working. When it was first hooked up sound was good but not worth $400. Disappointed.

Just bought a set of the sound bar system with Dolby Atmos, the sound quality is excellent, sound field is good, bass is more than enough in my opinion, need to mid and high are satisfying to me, overall it is a good option at this price point.

I bought this to up date my old Yamaha sound bar! This Sony bar sounds very good after playing and trying different settings. Would recommend easy to use.

Been using for 4 months. A little confusing when directions show to use HDMI cable and optical audio for any non-Sony TV brand when only optical audio is needed. Issue we have is only TV audio works—unable to get audio from Fire TV stick or BlueRay player. Also sometimes we have to turn the volume higher just to hear certain words.

Haven’t had much opportunity to listed to much streaming yet, but I think the system will enhance that experience too.

Sound system worked ok but for only about a month or so. It wouldn't power on anymore and I had to send it in for repair work. No idea how long it will last this time.
