Recommended by John Lewis. Getting the £100 discount from Sony as part of our £4000+ purchases was a real problem.

I tried two units, a used one from a big box retailer and a brand new one directly from Sony. Neither could push out bass even close to my 20 year old sub with less than half the power. I went through multiple rounds of tech support only to figure out there must be a problem linking correctly to my STR-AZ5000ES. Perhaps it works better paired with a soundbar, but with an AVR, performance is unacceptable.

More than enough bass comes from the SW3. I would recommend.

Excellent kit, all the bass you should need for watching movies, I use mine with the Sony quad system and at times I have the sub on a minus because there is so much bass, recommended.

Purchased to help sound from Sony hta3000 didn’t make much difference to the tv sound. Sounds tinny, tried various sound setting via Sony help desk.

Great addition to the HT-A3000 soundbar to add better bass to an already good sound produced by the sound bar and TV. Extremely easy to set up as it automatically added itself to the soundbar via WiFi, I just ensured the soundbar was switched on when powering on the Subwoofer for the first.

I purchased this product with hopes that it would enhance the sound of my sound bar, and it definitely did just that, I am happy with this purchase.

Adding this to my sound brings the rich base to my viewing entertainment. Perfect gift for a genx lol

I bought this and a sound bar to improve the sound quality of my Sony Tv. It was easy to install and now the sound quality is much improved.

Love this! Got this final piece of the jigsaw in my setup & it completes it perfectly. So nice to have proper bass for the spatial mapping. Only downside, & not the fault of the product, but certain football games are unwatchable due to idiots with drums

Bought two entire systems; one for myself and one for my parents. This subwoofer completely faulted and wouldn’t turn on for my parents 9 months after the purchase, and did the same thing to myself 1 year and 3 months after purchase. On day 1 I noticed drastic weakness in performance of my subwoofer to my parents and after completely not turning on not long after purchase, it was 3 months out of warranty; leaving me at liability to fix an apparent common issue with this unit. As a whole the HT5000 is mediocre, with the rear speaker RS3S being extremely weak. I’m upset with the fact that I decided to set up this and in general a Sony system in my living room. I am a huge audio guy with a home theatre in one of my rooms (Jamo system) and an insane mancave in my garage (JBL system) and have never had any issues, but with this system it’s been nothing but issues. Therefore never going Sony again. This system has ultimately been overpriced garbage.

I bought this sub woofer to accompany the wonderful Sony Theatre Quad surround sound system. I've seen reviews which indicated that only the SW5 would be man enough for the job but, in our 15x15 foot room the excellent SW3's are more than good enough. The integrate brilliantly with the four Quad speakers and provide a seamless, rich, deep, base. I could not be more pleased with my choice of sub woofer for this absolutely amazing surround/atmos Sony system.

There isn’t much to say about a sub, at least for the majority of users, if it thumps well and is able to produce a good range of bass then it’s great. This Sony sub does that well, it’s great for most home cinema experiences, it will give you the rumbling lows and nice 808s. I bought the 200 watt sub and it’s almost overkill, but of course if you want far more bass then opt for the 300 watt.

I bought the Theatre Bar 9 thinking it would have enough bass, but it didn't quite do it for me. I am in the UK and I have Sky Q. I watched Dune 2 in UHD HDR and wow this subwoofer makes a massive difference. Definitely worth buying if it's on your radar. Sky Q also provide an HDR tutorial where you test each speaker component in the Bar 9 and subwoofer, so I definitely know it works great. You just have to make sure you are watching the right content.

I purchsed this subwoofer to go with my HT-A9 surround system. Setup was easy, it sounded good with those speakers. A few months later it stopped powering on. Nothing I could do could fix it, and getting support from Sony is terrible. Probably wouldn't buy again.

I brought this device the base is very poor I tried speaking to customer service to change product no help at all. I was supposed to get phone call from a manager help me change the product but didn’t get a call back. So I have given up and worst money spent

I’m really happy that this completes my set. I have the A5000 soundbar, the SW3 subwoofer, and the RS5 rear speakers. It’s a great combo and offers a pretty great sound. My only complaint is the bass is very rumbly and not super clear. I can’t really put it above 5 and the options go up to 12. I’m not sure why it’s like this. I know this is the lesser of the two subwoofers if anybody reads this and has any tips, I would appreciate the help. Overall, I think the whole system is great and I’m pretty happy with it. I just wish the base was clear instead of rumbling and mumbling.

Simple setup and appears to work as expected, value for money

I have a Sony A80L 65” set with an A5000 soundbar, the RS5 rear speakers and now with the added SW3 soundbar I have full , movie theater sound. My system was great before the subwoofer, but now it’s amazing. Adding the subwoofer allows, the remote to have more control over the base and the subwoofer power. I just love how everything pairs and sinks together. The base is clear and perfect for my apartment living room.! Thanks again Sony, another amazing product!

I purchased this speaker when I bought a new TV and soundbar. It works as expected with great base sound. What more could one want!

It was easy to pair with the soundbar. Setup with the app was fast. After setup, the overall sound effect together with the soundbar Bravia8 was even more oomph than the soundbar itself. The textured surface makes it look very pro.

Went with the SW3 for what is a small room as opposed to the SW5. No surprise it has a strong robust sound that goes well with the 2024 HT-A9000 Bar 9, (or any other compatible Sony soundbar.

Easy set up with Sony TV and sound bar. As always with a sub, it so much the performance of the sun on its own but how it adds to the sound bar, and in that respect it delivers.

I brought this Sony SA-SW3 200w Subwoofer a fortnight ago to go with my Sony HT S2000 Sound Bar to give it its full effect. Unit is quite Heavy and larger than my old Panasonic one but this is a lot more powerful. Easy to set up plugged in & connected straight to the Sound Bar . In the Sony Home Entertainment App now showing both items and you can easily adjust both to get the desired effect you are after. Really good when watching a film in Dolby Atmos . If watching different programs it tells you what it is broadcasting in . Music sounds nice either playing music on an App or on a phone after turning on the Blue Tooth option. On a Sony Bravia TV if you press the setting button on tv remote and scroll along you can also see what settings the unit uses. Very well built and no distortion so far although I normally have the sound on the Subwoofer +3 or +4 . On the Sound Bar can depend what you are watching as sound can vary at times .

Bought with the S2000 soundbar. It gives a good rumble and really helps immersion. We have a medium size living room and I have it on about half power which is more than enough most of the time, but when you really want a bit more thunder I dial it up. Plus 10 on the setting is great to show off but soon gets to be too much.

I bought the products in January and have been very happy with the quality of sound. Definitely recommended.

Bought in December did not use until end of January and Bluetooth disconnects intermittently at times it will stay off up to five minutes sounded good during set up but now I have to listen to music with no bass very disappointed maybe should have bought first choice Sonos hopefully Sony will fix it

Reasonable performance but disappointing as it tends to overwhelm output and clarity of the soundbar.

Bought this 3 weeks ago together with the Sony sound bar HT-A5000 and I am happy with it. Installation was straightforward and simple. Bass performance is good

The SW3 is able to fit behind my sofa for a small area and sufficient to bass the TV and music. I used at level 4 just in case not to disturb neighbors at the lower level. Level 5 is too much bass for me.

Subwoofer is a key element in my home theater setup. Center, and yet to purchase it XRJ-65A95L in Japan. I am using STR-ANZ3000ES receiver and both SA-SW3 subs easily linked up along with a pair of SA-RS's. Receiver has web app to control bass. I have 4 x SA-RS5 Dolby atmos overhead, SS-CS8 center, SS-CS5's left and right channel. Zone 2 is HT-G700 soundbar. Subs should be even in number, and STR-ANZ3000ES supports two, for 200Watts and a small Japanese apartment I decided on SW3's vs the SW5's as knock the neighbors pictures off the wall is not the goal yet probably Marty McFly style still capable with SW3's

Couldn't afford when buying sound bar last year but was really pleased when I could add it at a later date. Good price and the sound/ base is really good

Bought this for £369 to complement my new S2000 Sony soundbar, makes all the difference especially on Avatar DVD etc, bass is amazing and fills the room with cinema sound

For a compact subwoofer it did not disappoint, the clear and powerful sound makes such a difference. very pleased.

I have had this subwoofer a couple months and I really like it. The previous system I had would not allow me to adjust my subwoofer independently and that was frustrating. This reproduced the richness of proper bass tones without being overpowering to the rest of the sound like many subwoofers

The A7000 Sound Bar is great, this wireless subwoofer with SA-RS5 rear speakers makes the whole system sound awesome.

I have the SA-SW3 in a small boxy room and at first I thought it was a bit boomy. After a little playing around with positioning (ended up moving about 6" back along the wall) and re-optimization the sound is brilliant. A great addition to the HT-A7000 sound bar and SA-RS5 surrounds.

I bought the Sony HT-A5000 soundbar that included this subwoofer In a purchase pkg. the system provides deep rich bass that doesn’t rattle and has very clear sound. It connects to the sound bar seemlessly after it’s connected to a power outlet. The beauty of it all is that there are no speaker wires.

I bought it on 6/12/22 and it is easy to setup this subwoofer with 200W of rich, powerful bass from a 160mm driver connected to my Sony HT-A5000 Dolby Atmos soundbar and Sony SA-RS5 wireless speakers.

Bought this as an open item from Best Buy in excellent condition. Worked great for 9 months then stopped working completely. Tried to get it repaired under warranty but it was registered to someone else so I was left with a $300 brick. I did learn to buy equipment protection on used electronics in the future though. I will not buy Sony speakers again tho.

When I first heard this sub, I thought I was listening to the larger 300 watt unit, it was truly impressive. In the last few weeks it’s taken everything I’ve thrown at it and delivered admirably. Great sub!

About as much bass as you’d want in a semidetached. Connected seamlessly to the HT-9 system with no effort to setup.

I have No regret having purchased the system! Always look forward to playing movies with good sound effects!

Got this with a pakage bought with A7000. What i love is the connectivity. Simply plug in and it is auto connect with A7000 bar. Easy setup and dont forget to optimise the sound field. Now, i dint quite like it, because it lack of a “deep punch” effect. But if you dont mind the deep rich bass/punch effect, This is good for you. My SW5 subwoofer is coming soon for an upgrade.

I wanted to add a sub to get extra base to go along with my Sony 7.1 soundbar, I'm so glad I did.

Good quality of sound base which I like and also simple in design.

Sounds good. Easy to set up (and then forget about it). What to improve: option to place flat instead of up straight. Fabric mesh looks nice but difficult to clean.

Bought it together with a sound bar. This was right choice. Low tones are rich and plentiful for large living room.
