This new player is so much better than our old Sony

This has been a nightmare three times have list sound when playing blue ray videos and had to send away to get repaired which has taken 5 weeks by the time it returns ! Not happy at all for such an expensive item

Having bought this I discovered a problem in that paid for content would not play. Contatcted Sony support and their only input was to recommend that I contact Google. The paid for content is fine on other devices only fails on Sony device!

Great UHD blu-ray player. Also plays HD blu-ray, DVD, CD's etc. Terrific picture and sound. Fast startup. I highly recommend.

This is a great player! The upscaling looks amazing on my Bravia OLED TV. The only issue is that this device doesn't like HDMI splitters. If I want to switch to it from a splitter, I have to switch the splitter; then, switch the TV to another HDMI port before switching back to the player's port.

The item failed out of the box. Failed to power on then would not boot once turned on. Not happy

Great for Dolby Vision Blu-rays. Wish it had more loaded apps....

Froze up on three occasions watching 4k discs. Returned it. Also having to change settings all the time depending on the video I’m watching is annoying. If you’re ok with setting changes all the time and occasionally freezing up like a brick then go for it. I switched to the Panasonic 820.

One of only two main companies these days which makes BluRay Players. Generally the player is good and functional. If offers some apps, though they are very limited in nature, pitty Sony has not kept up to the state of things regardign the optional apps. There is also no way to hide unused apps or ones you do not want.

Excellent player the 4K Blu-ray discs playback is superb and the upscaling of of Blu-ray discs and DVDS are great. When using the iPlayer app the playback is fantastic it upscales the contents of HD quality to almost 4K playback, very impressive I would highly recommend this player.

Internet miss lead me into thinking this player was multi region on Blu-ray and dvd But no it’s Blu-ray region B and dvd region 2. What a waste of £230

I bought this unit based on good online reviews as part of an upgrade of my existing HD home theater projector system to 4k. I think I made a bad choice because the picture freezes up completely half-way through the 4k films. I presume it might be the disc transition, but this normally just holds for a second or two. But mine lockes up completely which ruins the film. I need to re-start and scene select past the hold point. One time the player shut down completely by itself mid-film. The firmware/software is up-to-date, so at the moment I'm running through various discs to see it the issue remains. If it does, it'll be going back under guarantee. The interface does have Netflix, but what good is one streaming app? I use Chromecast to access all of my streaming services, so this feature is a bit useless on the DVD because I'm not going to boot it up just to access Netflix.

It plays Blu Ray and 4k disc but it cant's play DVD. After it reached the DVD, language selection, it stops there. There is no default language to select. The typical underline of the default language English does not appear. So i cannot go beyond the language selection to start the movie. Tried 2 products of same model. Same problem. Sent second set to Sony Service Centre. Technician could not detect any problem. Motherboard changed. After Sony returned the repaired unit, the problem repeats. Strange is was ok for the first DVD. But second time I played the same DVD, same problem happened again.

Purchased to replace an older DVD player. Works beautifully, great resolution and fast loading and playing of apps. Doesn't connect to all apps so we moved to a Smart TV but still use the Sony for DVD playing.

really liked the player.. very easy to use.. resolution is great. sharp and sound is sharp too.,,, slight downside but not deal breaker. the menu is so simple,, bare,,,

Received this as a Christmas gift & it's FANTASTIC! What a difference in picture quality from my previous Sony Blu-Ray player! I would tell EVERYONE to upgrade to 4K! SONY products ALWAYS delivers Above & Beyond products! They are "SIMPLY THE BEST"!

This blu ray player has great definition and performs flawlessly.

This is my first 4K player and it's display output has beaten my expectations.

I bought this to replace an old blu-ray player. Not sorry, although one of the reasons I bought it was the 4K capability. After watching movies in 4K, I wanted to see Maverick Top Gun. I bought the 4K disc before realizing you needed a 4K player. The Sony was very reasonable! It did pause on me the first play, I had to restart the movie and get back to the scene where it froze. The second time thru the movie it played all the way as well as the second. third, forth times, etc... I love this player!

We had the unit less than 2months. It just stopped. Thought it might be the remote. Got new remote - nope.. It just quit. Kaput.

Easy to register your product via Sony's website. Set up and configuration is simple and easy. Quality machine for the price and what I expect from Sony. I would highly recommend this unit if replacing and older model.

I brought it based on recommendation from YOU TUBE review and was disappointed with it. The set got heated up even when it was on standby mode and this is usual. Quality of pic is only acceptable as my OPPO BLU RAY player audio and video sound brought 12 years ago even surpassed X700

I bought the Blu-ray one month ago and was impressed with the size of the player - small and compact. The compact size does not take away the excellent features of this player which is able to output excellent sound (like Dolby Atmos, DTS X) give very clear and sharp pictures

Breathes new life into older dvds and enhances color and sound. B&W dvds look enhanced ...blacks are true blacks and whites stand out. Make sure you get a multi regional version and it will effortlessly play any region Blue ray or disc. Not all are multi region.

Love this player, great sound and video output. Look forward to upgrade to newer model. Highly recommended.

I've had it for a couple of years. It crashes every day. It crashes then doesn`t remember where the disc was so you have to find the same place. It crashes when streaming. It crashes sometimes and needs a power of reset. Its dreadful and a lot of reviews say the same. I am a Sony fan and this product is disapointing

It's the most affordable player that has Dolby vision. Fast loading and read almost every disc format.

I bought this to upgrade my system and I am very pleased with it.

I bought this item from Walmart and in the instructions booklet it says that the HDMI cable was supposed to be in the box however it was not. Not to mention that the tamper seals were in tact. The blu ray DVD player cost $70.buyer beware.

Have it paired up with a Sony 65” Full Array TV and Sony soundbar system. This sucker rocks!

This is the 3rd UBP-X700 we have purchased in the list 4 years. The first one lasted 2 years. The second one 14 months. We are hoping for better luck with this one. If this new unit craps out we will have to re-evaluate our loyalty to Sony. We are not going to give any rating on this unit at this time, sure you can understand why. John and Sandi Kane

I brought the Blu-Ray player earlier this month and to date it does not work on my Sony 55" TV.

I have used the Sony DVR for several months since purchased back in September and enjoy the quality and ease of set-up. The area I live in loses power occasionally and it requires reprogramming. Very easy with this unit.

I love this blue ray, but hate that hulu is not supported anymore. That's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

I purchased this to replace a Blu Ray player that stopped working. I wanted a replacement for what I have now, Blu Ray, and for the future, Blu Ray 4K, when I purchase a 4K TV. This model fit perfectly. Set up was fast with easy set up and finding the internet connection was quick. I have both older DVD and Blu Ray movies and after set up put a Blu Ray movie in and playback was great. It also worked well with my receiver and home theater speakers.

I bought this player in August it worked great for about 8 weeks, then wouldn't play it said the data on this disc is unreadable ,unplugged it and powered it back on and worked great again for 2 weeks or so but wouldn't read my disc again last night, unplugged it again and it played for a while then stopped and everything froze i couldn't get my disc out and now it does the same thing .it was an excellent player just doesn't work I know sometimes there are factory defects and i understand, just disappointed and I'm not upset with Sony they are an excellent company .

My 10 year old Sony was getting a little dated so i upgraded to this one! Great choice! plays anything and picture is fantastic !

I am a retired A/V sales/service person. Sony is one of my favorite brands. I own many components and Sony products are always above average. This unit was just what I needed for my system. I really like the separate HDMI audio output. My last Sony DVD lasted more than 10 years.

The unit performs great like all Sony products. I expected Dolby vision but gave heard it will have an update on the future.

I purchased the X700 a few years ago. We used it primarily for streaming Prime content and secondly for Netflix. It was excellent until the firmware update came along. It’s no longer streams Prime but will stream Netflix well. We purchased a fire stick and serves our needs well.

Sony products are very good. I've been using Sony over 10 year's.

I've purchased this Sony UPB-X700 nearly a month ago. So far I have no reasons to complain about it.Easy to connect to my Sony TV and quite straight forward to use it.So far so good .Only time will tell.Before this model I had a Sony UBP-X800 4k ultra bluray player.Hardly used.To my surprise after a long period of not using it , when I've tried to watch a bluray DVD it didn't start.No power whatsoever .I hope this new model it will not have the same fate.

Purchased a 4K OLED TV, had to update Blu-ray DVD player

I worked through support, tried to apply update online and via usb, no luck. Support said work with warranty under 1year. I purchased new but from an eBay retailer outlet, so was denied. So no updates for me.
